Since January 2005 Islwyn Scout Parc, in partnership with the local council, has strived to become a "green" campsite. Our recycling scheme enables us to recycle approximately 70% of the Parc's waste products thereby setting an example to our young people and protecting our environment for future generations. When camping at the Parc your group can help us to help the environment by maintaining this high percentage of material recycled. Please take the time to familiarise yourself with our scheme below. Thank you.

Lodge Residents

The kitchen has four green boxes for recycling. These are: Plastic, Cans, Paper/Card and Glass

Plastic - (Bottles only.) Please wash and squash. Remove all caps and lids.

Cans - (Food & Drink) Please wash and squash.

Paper / Card - Please squash all boxes

Glass - (Bottles & Jars) Please Wash. Remove all caps and lids.

Other material must be placed in the grey General Waste bin next to the cooker.

Please Note: All General Waste is removed by hand
. Therefore all General Waste must be placed in black bags and tied securely. These can then be placed in the large wheelie bin situated in the car park.

Campers

Upon your arrival please collect the clear recycling sacks from the Lodge. These can be found in the kitchen and cleaning cupboard. Please divide your waste into four separate bags.

When bags are full please tie secularly and place in the corresponding wheelie bins which are located at the recycling point in the car park. When cleaning materials for recycling please do not tip excess food into the drainage system. Please empty into black bags (double if necessary) and place in General Waste.

All other material is classed as General Waste.

Please Note: All General Waste is removed by hand. Therefore all General Waste must be placed in black bags and tied securely. These can then be placed in the corresponding wheelie bin situated in the car park.

Failure to comply may result in a surcharge being made to remove the rubbish and may jeopardise future bookings.
